GET TO KNOW ELISA

Our current world affects our lives and can bring much stress and anxiety. With uncontrollable situations, many Albertans find themselves easily discouraged and dread facing the challenges ahead. I want to bring support to those encountering everyday problems, and help find solutions to ease the burden that you are facing. I want to help you understand your situation, and take real steps toward achieving your dreams and goals.

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Calgary and a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology from California Baptist University.

With over 5 years of experience in counselling, I have worked with individuals, couples, and groups presenting with a wide range of concerns. The experience I offer spans anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, anger management, crisis management, domestic violence, work related stress, and family relations. I have worked as a staff counsellor and an intern supervisor. I am devoted to providing quality care to all my clients. I value client preference and tailor my approach to each client’s needs. Together, we can collaboratively move you from the dread of tomorrow, and toward the life you desire and deserve. Book today to take that first step!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT

Initial Session:

The initial counselling session allows for the client and the counsellor to get acquainted. At the time of the initial session, the consent form will be reviewed, and any relevant history and goals or desires for the outcome of counselling will be discussed. This will provide the necessary framework for future sessions.

Subsequent Sessions:

Counselling is a collaborative process. Together we will begin to work towards the outcomes that you desire. I am able to provide you with psychological and practical tools to help you address your concerns, while you provide the feedback and commitment to work on these tools in your own time. There is no magical wand to take you from A to B, but when you are committed to doing the work, I can help you get there.

FAQS

HOW LONG DOES EACH COUNSELLING SESSION TAKE?

Each counselling session is 50 minutes in length.

ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY INSURANCE?

Services provided by a registered psychologist are often covered by insurance providers. Each individual client is encouraged to check with their provider to determine the specifics of their benefit plan. At this time direct billing is not available, but the invoice for the session can be used to receive reimbursement from the provider.

WHAT DOES "ONLINE" COUNSELLING MEAN?

For your convenience, I am offering two forms of distance counselling - online and phone. The online sessions are provided on a secure video counselling platform. Please specify your preference at the time of booking.

*For best results, the browser Google Chrome is needed for online sessions.

DO YOU OFFER IN PERSON SESSIONS?

No. I have a fully virtual practice, so only online and phone sessions are available. There are many benefits to these sessions, as they are convenient and can be done anywhere on any device.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Sessions can easily be rescheduled at elutzpsychology.janeapp.com. It is important to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice for a cancellation. If a cancellation occurs with less than 24 hours of the appointment, there will be a cancellation fee of $100.

DO YOU PROVIDE CLINICAL SUPERVISION?

Yes. Clinical supervision is able to be provided to provisional psychologists or counselling interns. For more information, please contact Elisa below.
